SCHOOL OF RAYS OFF ISLA MUJERES

We say these rays on our return trip from Isla Holbox to Isla Mujeres last week. We are told the oil spill has changed the patterns of where the rays go forcing them further south towards Isla. It was a beautiful magical site to behold.

We estimated about 300 to 400 rays in this school. They were generally 2 or 3 deep and moved as one.

We have some video to share as well later.

We got feedback these are probably cownose rays.

Yahtzee with 1's on the First Roll at Alcantildo

A favorite Isla past time is playing Yahtzee, having an adult beverage, and waiting for the food. We are known on the island as the dice folks. We also love Rummikub and Sequence. Isla and games are a great combo.

Sunlight over the Lighthouse on Punta Sur

Climb the steps of the Lighthouse and then have a cold cerveza at Alcantildo.

Isla Sky 2

Isla Sky 2, originally uploaded by tbsstwin.

Keep telling myself: It's just a sky, it's just a sky....but of course it's not just any sky, it's the sky over Punta Sur. Today it is raining...which we love....so this will be our virtual sky of the day.
