SCHOOL OF RAYS OFF ISLA MUJERES

We say these rays on our return trip from Isla Holbox to Isla Mujeres last week. We are told the oil spill has changed the patterns of where the rays go forcing them further south towards Isla. It was a beautiful magical site to behold.

We estimated about 300 to 400 rays in this school. They were generally 2 or 3 deep and moved as one.

We have some video to share as well later.

We got feedback these are probably cownose rays.
