TURTLE SPOTTING IN ISLA

No trip is complete without a visit to the Turtle Sanctuary on Sac Bajo.

These photos were taken at sunrise to take advantage of the amazing morning light over Punta Sur. This reminds me of a shutter on a camera. It has captured what looks like a deer in the background. No worries dear, we have never seen deer on the island - dare I say.

Behold the sun. You will find many pictures of this guy on line but not any with the morning sun shooting through his offering. Many of us think he should be holding a blackberry or iphone.....or perhaps a cerveza!

iiANOTHER GREAT ISLA AERIAL SHOT!!

This was shot on a flight from Cancun to Miami. Shot with a Nikon and edited in photoshop. You can see quite a bit of detail despite the altitude and shooting through a plane window at dusk. The almost "orange" spot on the right is the beach by the settlement. If you look close, you can see on the car ferry's at the dock. And if you zoom real close, you will see people enjoying tacos and micheladas....

SUNRISE FROM THE BAY OVER CASA VAYA VIDA

COCONUT MANGO SHRIMP AT EL PUEBLITO

These are the famous coconut shrimp with mango sauce at our neighborhood hang, El Pueblito. Cold beer, hot shrimp. Left over sauce should be poured over rice. The bowls for the sauce are coconut shells.

FOR THOSE WHO PREFER SUNSETS

Here is a classic Punta Sur sunset.

It's always better with some clouds to reflect the light. You see amazing pink colors on the clouds, even on the east side of the island during sunset.

Best enjoyed with an adult drink from the porch or the Palapa. These are the kind of major decisions that have to be made during an Isla trip. Porch or Palapa???
